Known for its mottled pattern, which varies according to its habitat, the marble trout can grow to impressive sizes, often exceeding one meter in length. Its diet includes invertebrates and aquatic insects during its juvenile stage, and fish and small vertebrates as it matures. The marble trout reaches sexual maturity between the ages of 3 and 4 years.
